Hardwood, wrought iron, oak or stainless steel? This is the biggest dilemma our customer face, other than which design to choose. At The UK Electric Gate Company, we offer our customers a range of materials and finishes so you can find the perfect match for your property.

Everybody’s style is different, so whether you’re into traditional design, contemporary fashion or something that doesn’t quite fit into a box, we can make the right gates for you. There are benefits to using all of the materials we offer – hence why we offer them – so a lot of the decision making comes down to your personal style.

Hardwood

We offer Iroko and Sapele hardwoods at The UK Electric Gate Company, both of which can be used to create sturdy automatic gates. In appearance, Iroko hardwood is like Teak, giving it a timeless look and feel. We love Iroko hardwood gates with a simple varnish to protect the wood and enhance its natural colour. Sapele hardwood is popular with customers who like the appearance of Mahogany, and is a dark reddish brown in colour. Both types are hardwoods are renowned for their durability and how well they weather, hence why we love them! All the wood that we use at The UK Electric Gate Company is sustainably sourced by our sister company Border Hardwood Limited. All hardwood gates are beautifully finished off by our experienced blacksmiths who add the finishing touches such as hinges and handles.

Wrought Iron

Wrought iron is timeless and classic, perfect for historic properties as well as modern builds. Their universal style is suitable for all and ageless. With many standard designs, you can choose an existing style to suit your property, or go all out and commission your very own bespoke design made exactly to your specification. Previous projects include designs modelled on Victorian and Edwardian traditional styles, made specifically to suit the individual’s needs. As well as looking the part, the imposing nature of wrought iron gates is known to deter people from accessing properties, and are sure to make your property look and feel more secure.

At The UK Electric Gate Company, we often design and manufacture matching pedestrian gates which look really effective when paired with their matching main gate. We’re happy to do this with both existing gate designs and bespoke designs.

Oak

The beautiful prime oak we use at The UK Electric Gate Company is classic and dependable. Suitable for any design, this wood is known for its durability as it contains high levels of tannin, meaning it’s more immune to insect infestations or damage from fungi than some other types of wood.

Our specialist team of time served bench joiners will provide you with a gate that is made to last – for the Norton Grange gates, our sister company, Border Hardwood Limited, also supplied the solid oak posts to complete the gates.

Our senior painter Alan is on hand to finish off your oak gates with oil or paint – the Oswestry Gate was hand finished with Osmo oil, which will protect the wood and enrich its natural colour.

Stainless Steel

Stainless steel is an ideal option for both commercial and private properties. It looks clean and professional and is extremely well wearing, as well as safe. With different types of automation on offer, The UK Electric Gate Company can provide sliding or swing stainless steel gates, with keypad access and an intercom system among the range of accessories available.

The Kensington Pair

The price of each pair of gates is different, depending on whether it’s a bespoke design or one of our go to styles, which material is used and what finish is applied.
