We have various options available to you when choosing your gate automation system – here we let you in on the benefits to you of choosing an automated sliding gate!
Having a sliding gate will allow you to enter your property without having to get out of the car (as you would if you had a manual gate). This is an obvious advantage at night or during poor weather conditions. Sliding gates can also close automatically, so you don’t have to think about closing and locking the gate behind you.
As with all automated gates, when comparing them to manual gates, sliding gates are much more secure. Sliding gates do however offer the highest level of security in the way of automated gates, as swing gates can be vulnerable to ramming.
Sliding gates can enhance the appeal of your property through classic and more modern designs. They are suitable for outside you home as well as on more commercial settings. Sliding gates can be manufactured in metal or wood depending on your taste.
Our range of modern aluminium gates are becoming more and more popular, including The Edinburgh Sliding Gate pictured below:
Little space required
Sliding gates are much more appropriate when you have little space. You will of course still need some space sideways, but something in the landscape may be stopping the possibility of a swing gate, and that’s why a sliding gate may be the choice for you. You will also be able to use the space right next to the sliding gate because they don’t take up a large area when opening and closing. Smaller properties will often benefit from a sliding style gate.
Below you can see an image of The Bristol Telescopic Sliding Gate. These individual panels overlap each other when the gate opens and are good if your driveway is limited on entrance space.
As sliding gates are normally positioned on wheels, you will not have the problem of the gate getting damaged by colliding with the ground. Their hardwearing nature, as well as being lifted off of the ground means that this will help to reduce the damage caused by pressure, weather or damage and reduce the instances of repair.
Add value to property
As with any electric gate, an automatic sliding gate can add value to your property. First impressions of a property will be formed straight away, and visitors are likely to be impressed by the regal feel that an electric gate can give to a property. Things such as security and practicality are other things to consider when adding electric gates to your home. You can see our blog on how electric gates can add value to your property here.
We can make sliding aluminium gates, such as The Ayr pictured below, from two swing gates to allow variation on the standard flat top theme, and to give the impression of swing gates, if that is what you want – but do not have the space.
